IPG Advisors’ (“IPG”, “We”) Privacy Policy sets out important information about privacy protections which we extend to your personal information, in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act).

There may be exemptions to this rule, such as where collection is required by law.

This policy should be communicated to any person whose information you collect and provide to us. In providing such information you agree that you have obtained the revenant consent and this is authorised to do so.
What may happen if Personal Information requested is not provided to IPG Advisors?
If you do not provide us with the information we request, our ability to provide services may be compromised. Our advice may be inaccurate or incomplete and we may be unable to provide certain services to the individual concerned, or those services may be delayed.
In certain circumstances failure to provide some information may result in documents being submitted to the ATO, ASIC or other statutory bodies late and possibly incurring penalties.
Disclosure of Personal Information
IPG Advisors will not sell, exchange, trade or otherwise supply to third parties any personal information obtained from you without your prior consent.
Please note that if at any time IPG Advisors is required by law to release information about you or your organisation, we must cooperate fully.
We will, with prior consent, disclose information about you to various organisations and/or parties in order to fulfil our engagement with you. These organisations include for example:
IPG Advisors has multiple offices and will disclose Personal Information between offices for the purposes of providing services to you.
IPG Advisors engages overseas service providers to process data and help deliver services to you. We may disclose your personal information to these providers from time to time. Such overseas disclosure would be to India, Philippines or another country as advised and be subject to requirements of the Privacy Principles.
IPG Advisors engage staff overseas who are subject to the requirements of our Privacy Policy.
Destruction of Personal Information
When your personal information is no longer used by IPG Advisors, we will destroy or permanently de-identify personal information where permitted after 7 years.
Our ability to destroy information is limited by legislative requirement to retain records for a period of time (for example CGT records or employee payroll data).
While you remain a client of IPG Advisors, we will retain personal information beyond the statutory periods where we consider that information may be relevant to future tax periods or advisory requirements.
Security of Personal Information
Safeguarding the privacy of your information is important to us. We hold personal information in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and paper based files, and take steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, interference, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Please note the internet is not secure and we cannot guarantee the security of any information sent to us via the internet.
Accuracy of Personal Information
IPG Advisors takes all reasonable precautions to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, the accuracy of the information we hold depends to a large extent on the information you provide.
Please advise us if there is any change to your personal information that is relevant to the provision of our services.

You have a right to access your personal information (subject to the Act), subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know by contacting your advisor or our Privacy Officer. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. We will not charge you for responding to such a request, unless we incur costs in providing the information.
